bondi hardware...

if you’ve walked down bondi’s hall street in the past 30 years you may recall an unlikely icon in the form of a cluttered hardware store. what was once a place for local tradesmen and D.I.Y enthusiasts has now undergone a complete transformation, re-opening it’s doors as a vibrant and welcoming bar & restaurant, aptly named ‘bondi hardware’.

flooded with natural light and a rustic charm that pays homage to its heritage, bondi hardware is the creation of experienced hospitality professionals, hamish watts and ben carroll.  the completed project presents an interior incorporating high gabled ceilings, ornate features including exposed bricks, recycled timbers, and specialty fabrics creating a warm and inviting place with character to match.

the menu; with a "global share-style food" ethos in mind has specialty dishes including prosciutto wrapped bocconcini with tomato and lemon, chermoula lamb chops with Moroccan spice couscous & mint yoghurt and a long standing favorite salt & pepper encrusted squid with coriander, chili, shallots and lime.

not to be outdone by the food, the selection of beer, ciders, cocktails and spirits compliment the food and venue itself. resistance will be futile with the offering of elderflower icy pops, loco Coco (a whole coconut loaded with papero blanco and a splash of coconut syrup) barlow Bros. brew, (batlow cider over sailor jerry's spiced rum, ice & a splash of spiced honey and apple syrup served with a cinnamon stick).

visit bondi hardware this summer to see what creativity and passion has delivered!
