introducing brock...king of the mountain...or the beach

meet brock, he loves swimming on the gold coast, he's friendly, easy going and looking for a loving family to live with.  he's had a difficult start to life and needs a kind mum and dad to look after him.

bordeaux lust...

this month's cover of vogue captured my attention with the colour of the model's nails...tom's ford bordeaux lust to be exact.  this is definitely my favourite colour of the season.

welcome home ‘bobi’…

the rich and luxurious hue of bordeaux now inhibits my wardrobe in the form a of ‘bobi’ bag by jerome dreyfuss.  this is just the beginning of my obsession with the designer; the deluxe leathers, diverse colour palette and craftsmanship used in his collection of bags are certainly attention grabbing to say the least.

‘bobi’, small enough to accompany you for an evening outing and (for me) large enough for everyday use.

‘bobi’ comes in a range of colours, leather varieties & textures and is available from the jerome dreyfuss online store, or like my ‘bobi’ the New York Boutique located at 473 Broome St, New York, USA.

scooter angels...

most of us have been in a position of parking our car at a bar or restaurant with the intention of only one drink; things change when you decide to partake in more festivities (which normally includes more alcohol) for the evening. for me... this was last night, not wanting pay for a cab home only to make the long journey back the next day to collect my car, i started to investigate alternative options.

i stumbled upon scooter angels in a google search, liking their concept (book the job, a rider turns up on a scooter to collect your car and passengers, the scooter is folded up into a medium suitcase, placed in your boot and you're all on your way)i entered my details for an instant quote.  happy with the fairly priced quote, i booked the job straight away with my credit card and received a text to confirm the booking, simple. the driver was there on time and we were home safely with my car in the driveway for use the next day.

not only do scooter angels provide excellent service, it's an economical way to travel home for up to four people and best of all there's no inconvenience the next day in collecting your car.  i know I'll be using this this service from now on, i can't recommend scooter angels highly enough. even if it's last minute decision, they only need around 60 minutes notice to book you in.

make your way to http://www.scooterangels.com.au/ to find out more and get a quote for your next night out.

this week bluey is looking for a new family...

bluey is an active, friendly kelpie looking for a new home.  he's a working dog breed so he needs a super active family to keep up with him and keep him occupied.
he is an adult dog and will need a good fenced yard to prevent him from escaping. you see from his photos he has kind eyes and a cheeky smile!

lust have...

whilst doing the rounds of my favourite blogs (in particular www.theyallhateus.com) I came across some outfit inspiration and a handbag wish list.

one of these two bags really should be mine, the hardest part here is choosing between the two.

adopt a pet...

christmas has been and gone for another year and now the dust has settled, it's a good time to help out the RSPCA. there are plenty of ways to help including small donations and more significantly,(and fun) adopting a pet.

each week i'm going to post details about a pet (in various locations) available for adoption to give them the best chance of finding a new family.

this week it's paddy... he's five and looking for a gentle loving household with at least a five foot fence to prevent an escape.

smolt... you must visit

nestled in salamanca’s  dining precinct is a restaurant that must be experienced.  smolt offers tasteful and comfortable surroundings, great service and a menu that will leave you feeling well and truly satisfied.

image from www.smolt.com.au
perfectly portioned servings make smolt an establishment suitable for ordering a meal for yourself or in our case a variety of dishes and a share plate dining experience.
this included saffron & fennel risotto with seared local scallops, pecorino & oregano;
snow peas with macadamia nut butter, pumpkin seeds & red wine onions; and
as if that wasn’t enough our festive gluttonous ways were revealed when we completed our meal with baked chocolate mousse tart with vanilla chai ice cream, pistachio praline & red wine caramel… delicious indeed.
as with any dining experience the service is key and smolt certainly rose to the occasion, we were well looked after by staff who were both professional, friendly and more than happy to oblige with insightful menu suggestions.

in a location that has no shortage of fine and casual dining options, smolt is well worth the visit, delivering on menu, wine list and service.

bondi hardware...

if you’ve walked down bondi’s hall street in the past 30 years you may recall an unlikely icon in the form of a cluttered hardware store. what was once a place for local tradesmen and D.I.Y enthusiasts has now undergone a complete transformation, re-opening it’s doors as a vibrant and welcoming bar & restaurant, aptly named ‘bondi hardware’.

flooded with natural light and a rustic charm that pays homage to its heritage, bondi hardware is the creation of experienced hospitality professionals, hamish watts and ben carroll.  the completed project presents an interior incorporating high gabled ceilings, ornate features including exposed bricks, recycled timbers, and specialty fabrics creating a warm and inviting place with character to match.

the menu; with a "global share-style food" ethos in mind has specialty dishes including prosciutto wrapped bocconcini with tomato and lemon, chermoula lamb chops with Moroccan spice couscous & mint yoghurt and a long standing favorite salt & pepper encrusted squid with coriander, chili, shallots and lime.

not to be outdone by the food, the selection of beer, ciders, cocktails and spirits compliment the food and venue itself. resistance will be futile with the offering of elderflower icy pops, loco Coco (a whole coconut loaded with papero blanco and a splash of coconut syrup) barlow Bros. brew, (batlow cider over sailor jerry's spiced rum, ice & a splash of spiced honey and apple syrup served with a cinnamon stick).

visit bondi hardware this summer to see what creativity and passion has delivered!
